Lion (Leeutjie) Class:

Emerging Leaders (Ages 4–5 Years)

Nurturing Young Minds in the Lion Class

At Lekker Land Preschool, our Lion (Leeutjie) Class is designed for children aged 4 to 5 years, a pivotal stage in early childhood development. During this year, our curriculum focuses on fostering independence, enhancing social skills, and preparing our young learners for the exciting journey into formal education.

What Our 4-5-Year-Olds Learn

  • Cognitive Development: Children engage in activities that promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and early mathematical concepts, laying a strong foundation for future academic success
  • Language and Literacy: Through storytelling, singing, and interactive discussions, we enhance vocabulary, comprehension, and expressive language skills, fostering a love for reading and communication.
  • Social and Emotional Growth: Our program emphasizes collaboration, empathy, and self-regulation, helping children navigate their emotions and build meaningful relationships with peers.
  • Creative Expression: Daily arts and crafts sessions allow children to explore their creativity, develop fine motor skills, and express their unique personalities through various mediums.
  • Physical Development: We incorporate activities that improve both fine and gross motor skills, ensuring children develop coordination, balance, and overall physical health

Our Approach

We believe in integrating integrity, safety, and edutainment into our teaching methods, ensuring that each child receives a holistic education that balances learning with play. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which views children as active participants in their learning journey, encouraging exploration and discovery.
